A full set of teeth, built around your face and bite
A complete denture is a full, removable set of replacement teeth for an arch with no remaining natural teeth. Complete dentures replace a whole arch of missing teeth — upper, lower, or both. They are usually the right path when an arch has no healthy teeth left to keep, or when an older full denture no longer fits the way it used to.
Beyond filling the gap, a complete denture is shaped around your features to restore three things:
- Facial support Holds up your lips and cheeks so your face keeps its natural shape.
- Comfort speaking and eating A balanced bite makes it easier to talk and chew with confidence.
- A smile that suits you Tooth shape, shade, and smile line are chosen around your face — not a generic template.

The first 30 days
Some soreness and extra saliva are normal at first — your mouth is adjusting. Start with softer foods cut small, practise speaking out loud, and keep your follow-up visit: small adjustments are a normal part of the process, and a sore spot that lasts more than a few days is worth a quick call to your clinic.
Made, fitted, and perfected under one roof
Your complete denture is designed and fitted by a licensed denturist and crafted by skilled technicians in our on-site Ottawa lab — so the person who knows your smile shapes the result, and fit changes happen here.

Most patients are seen over several appointments: consultation, impressions and bite records, a try-in to approve the look, then final fit. Your denturist gives you a realistic timeline after seeing your mouth and treatment needs.
-
They can be designed to look natural for your face. Tooth shape, shade, gum contour, smile line, and bite are planned together, and the try-in appointment gives you a chance to review the look before the denture is finished.
-
Complete dentures may be covered for eligible patients under the Canadian Dental Care Plan. We confirm your coverage before treatment begins and explain the estimate before you decide.

Tell us during your consultation. Your denturist can explain whether an immediate denture plan may fit your situation and how to coordinate with any dental treatment needed first.
-
A loose denture does not always mean you need a brand-new one. Depending on the fit, age, wear, and bite, a reline, rebase, adjustment, or replacement may be discussed.
