Smile Denture & Implant Clinic has been caring for Ottawa smiles since 2016. If you're exploring new dentures, a repair, or a reline for the first time, it helps to know who you'll actually be working with. Here's a plain-language look at who we are, what we help with, how a visit with our team goes, and what to expect once your denture is in your hands.
Who we are
We're an Ottawa denture clinic built around our own on-site lab, so the same team that plans your denture is closely involved in crafting it too. Our denturists are licensed and regulated by the College of Denturists of Ontario, and they handle every stage of your care — the initial exam, the design and fit of your denture, and the follow-up visits after. You can read more about our team and our lab on our About page.
Alongside our Ottawa clinic, our denturists also see patients at our locations in Perth and Carleton Place, and — opening in September 2026 — a new clinic in Kanata. Every location is staffed by our own licensed denturists; fittings and check-ups happen at the branch you visit, while dentures themselves are crafted in our clinic's own lab in Ottawa. You'll find hours, addresses, and phone numbers for every clinic on our locations page.
What we help with
Our denturists work with patients at every stage of denture care, from a first denture to years of adjustments afterward. In plain terms, here's what we help with:
- Complete dentures, for patients missing all of their natural teeth in an arch
- Immediate dentures, worn right after your extractions while your mouth heals
- Implant-retained dentures, secured by dental implants for extra stability
- Partial dentures, which fill gaps while keeping your remaining natural teeth
- Repairs and relines, for dentures made here or elsewhere, including refits as your mouth changes over time
You can see the full range of treatments, including how each option works and who it tends to suit, on our services page. If a denture you're already wearing has cracked, come loose, or simply needs adjusting, our denture repairs & relines page walks through what to expect. And if you're not sure which option fits your situation, that's exactly what a consultation is for — our denturists will help you work through it together rather than leave you to guess.
How we work
We try to keep the process straightforward from your very first visit. Every new patient starts with a free consultation, where one of our licensed denturists examines your mouth, listens to what you're looking for, and talks through your options in plain language. If treatment makes sense for you, we put together a written estimate before any work begins, so you know what's involved before you decide on anything. You can request a consultation any time through our booking page.
For eligible patients, we direct-bill the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), so less comes out of your pocket at the time of treatment; for private insurance, our team prepares the paperwork so you can submit your own claim, and we can coordinate with WSIB where it applies. Our CDCP coverage page explains who qualifies and how the process works. Throughout treatment, our front-desk team keeps you updated and checks in between appointments, so you're never left wondering what happens next or chasing anyone for an answer.
What to expect as a patient, long-term
Getting a denture isn't a single appointment — it's an ongoing relationship. Mouths change shape gradually over the months and years after you're fitted, and a denture that felt just right at first may need adjusting later on. When that happens, you'll see the same team that designed and fitted your denture in the first place, so they already know your history and what you're looking for, rather than starting from scratch with someone new. Regular check-ups let us catch small fit issues early, before they turn into sore spots or a denture that feels loose. And if a denture ever cracks, chips, or needs a tooth added, our denturists and lab technicians take care of the repair here in Ottawa, whether the denture was originally made with us or somewhere else.
Getting started
If you're new to Smile Denture & Implant Clinic, the easiest first step is a free consultation. There's no referral needed, and no obligation to book treatment on the spot — bring your questions, and any current denture you'd like us to look at, and we'll go through your options together in plain language. However you reach out, our front-desk team follows up personally to help arrange a time that works for you, so getting started never feels like a hurdle on top of everything else.
